Welcome to the One Piece: Grand Pirate Battle! Battling System Guide! The following information is everything you need to know about battling on this forum.
So let's start off with the Stat Chart. The following information will be displayed on every Character Profile, filled out accordingly.
Level: 5 [Self Explanatory]
Current Stat Points: 300 [The amount of Stat Points your character currently has.] NOTE: Devil's Fruit Users start with 400!
Required Stat Points to Level up: 200 [The amount needed to advance to the next level.]
Health Points: [The amount of life your character has before they are unable to battle.]
Speed: [How fast your character can move]
Attack: [How effective your characters attack is.]
Defense: [How strong your characters defense is.]
Everyone will start out on Level five, so the first three sections is the only thing that everyone will have in common when starting. You can select where to distribute your current stat points as you like.
Each time you level up, the current Stat Points will increase by fifty. The Required Stat Points will increase by 100. There are two ways to gain Stat Points.
The first is by training, which will consist of role playing the training session and dividing the word count by two. The number you get after dividing is the number of points you will receive.
The second way is fighting. I could make a whole diagram for this, and probably will later, but for now, this is the simplified version.
If a character decides to Attack, the opponent has the option to either Dodge, or Defend. Dodging depends on Speed, Defending depends on Defense.
If the Speed is higher then the Attack, then the attack can be Dodged.
If the Defense is higher then the Attack, then the attack can be defended. However, keep in mind that without a weapon/attack to defend with, you will receive half the damage intended.
If the Attack is higher then both Speed and Defense, the attack will hit.
If the Attack and Speed are the same when attacking, the attack will hit.
If the Attack and Defense are the same, the Defense will cancel out half of the intended damage.
NOTE: It would be wise to use the reaction with the highest amount of points!
All attacks must have a damage amount between 0 and 40 when at level 5. Only 1 attack can have a damage of 40 when starting out, and this attack will be the Signature Attack. Each time you level up, the Signature Attack's damage will increase by 5.
